Almost half of the votes have been counted
In Hungary, after the polling stations closed, the first results of the parliamentary elections became known. With half of the votes counted, the opposition party “Tisa” led by Peter Madyar is in the lead.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the website of the National Election Office of Hungary (NEO).

Counting data as of 23:03
Currently, 77.44% of the votes have been counted. The preliminary distribution of mandates in the parliament (199 seats) is as follows:

for the party “Tisa” – preliminarily, 138 mandates in parliament out of 199 (constitutional majority);

for the party “Fidesz” – 54 mandates;
-
for the party “KDNP” – 7 mandates;
-
the party “Mi Hazánk” – 0 mandates (does not overcome the electoral threshold).

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte congratulated Peter Madyar on his victory over the phone.
Emmanuel Macron and the Chairman of the European People’s Party Manfred Weber also congratulated the leader of the “Tisa” party on his victory in the parliamentary elections in Hungary.
Counting data as of 22:25
At this moment, 53.45% of the votes have been counted. In addition to the constitutional majority, the Madyar party is preliminarily gaining one more mandate in parliament. The results as of now are as follows:
- for the party “Tisa,” 68.34% of voters cast their ballots (preliminarily, 136 mandates in parliament out of 199);
- for Viktor Orban’s “Fidesz,” 28.14% of Hungarians voted (56 mandates in parliament).

Counting data as of 22:10
The NEO of Hungary has counted 45.71% of the votes. At this moment, one of the parties is already gaining a constitutional majority:
for the party “Tisa,” 67.84% of voters cast their ballots – this equals 135 mandates in parliament (out of 199); for the party “Fidesz,” 28.64% – 57 mandates.

Meanwhile, Peter Madyar reported on social media that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban congratulated him on his victory over the phone.

Counting data as of 21:50
As of 21:50 Kyiv time, 29.21% of the votes have been counted in Hungary. The first trend is now clear regarding which party is ahead. Specifically, the current results are as follows:
- for Peter Madyar’s “Tisa,” 66.33% of voters cast their ballots – this equals 132 mandates in parliament out of 199 (only 1 mandate short of a constitutional majority);
- for Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s “Fidesz,” 29.65% of voters cast their ballots – this equals 59 mandates.

Elections in Hungary
Recall that today, Sunday, April 12, parliamentary elections were held in Hungary.
The polling stations closed at 19:00, and it turned out that there was a historic turnout for the elections today. As of 18:30, 77.80% of Hungarians had voted, which equals almost 6 million people.
It is worth noting that in the days leading up to the elections, 21 Research Center conducted a survey that preliminarily indicated that Orban’s party was losing in these elections.
According to the survey, “Tisa” could receive 55% of the votes, which would equal 132 mandates in parliament. Meanwhile, “Fidesz” received 38% in the survey (61 mandates).
