Meteorologists warn of “yellow” and even “orange” levels of danger

Meteorologists are warning Ukrainians about ground and air frosts in the coming days. These dangerous phenomena will affect most regions and may damage some fruit trees.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a publication from the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook.

What frosts are forecasted and when on the ground

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning about dangerous and extreme meteorological phenomena in the coming days across Ukraine.

According to the forecast from UkrHMC specialists, frosts of 0-3°C on the ground surface may occur:

  • night from Wednesday to Thursday, April 9;
  • night from Thursday to Friday, April 10;
  • night from Friday to Saturday, April 11.

“I level of danger, yellow“, – the Ukrainians were informed.

Where and when air frosts may occur

Air frosts of 0-3°C on the night of April 9 may occur in the following regions:

  • Kharkiv;
  • Luhansk;
  • Donetsk;
  • Chernihiv;
  • Sumy;
  • Poltava;
  • Dnipropetrovsk;
  • Khmelnytskyi;
  • Zhytomyr;
  • Vinnytsia.

Meanwhile, during the following nights – April 10 and 11 – air frosts of 0-3°C are forecasted for all regions of Ukraine without exception.

What to expect with frosts in Kyiv and the region

In the territory of the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region, extreme meteorological phenomena are likely:

  • night of April 10;
  • night of April 11.

This refers to air frosts (0-3°C).

In conclusion, the UkrHMC reported that the forecasted frosts “will harm early-blooming fruit trees“.
