The artist explained how the decision to join the army changed his life
Ukrainian singer David Axelrod, husband of producer Elena Mozgova, shed light on his life in the military role. He explained why he disappeared from the public space and whether he returned to service after his injury.

Where did David Axelrod disappear to
The artist rarely appears in public and does not remind people of himself on social media. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, his priorities have changed significantly.
“It’s not about a career or media presence, but about much more basic things – to endure and win,” he shared.
Since the start of the large-scale war, Axelrod has focused on helping the army and serving.
“I have basically lived in this mode 24/7: working with our charity fund, being in the Territorial Defense, and now serving in the National Guard. I volunteered – it was a completely conscious decision. Of course, this path has not been easy,” he admitted.

What Mozgova’s husband said about military service
The artist shared that during one of the deployments, he sustained an injury that required several surgeries.
“It was during that period that my contract with the Territorial Defense ended, and the question arose: what next. I effectively dropped out of active service for a year – surgeries, rehabilitation, gradually getting back into shape,” he recounted.
Due to recovery from the injury, he could not actively perform military duties, but eventually returned to service.
“When I recovered, I returned to service again in the National Guard,” he added.
David also touched on the topic of earnings during the war. He receives military payments as well as royalties from music. However, according to the singer, the income from songs is minimal.
“There are royalties, some author payments. But to be honest, right now, this is not the kind of money you can seriously rely on. Music is more about not losing yourself than about making money,” he concluded.

What is known about the artist’s injury
During his service in the Territorial Defense, he injured his knee, which he had problems with before. The singer’s wife mentioned that the injury worsened due to an unsuccessful landing.
This knee had been operated on before, so the damage led to negative consequences. Ultimately, David underwent several surgeries, after which he went through rehabilitation.
