It is noted that the proposed increase in public transport fares to 42 hryvnias, initiated by carriers, was not supported in Lviv.
At the same time, a moderate adjustment of tariffs is proposed to maintain the quality of transportation:
- student fare – 11.5 hryvnias (currently 8.5),
- with LeoCard – 23 hryvnias (currently 17),
- with a bank card – 26 hryvnias (currently 20),
- cash – 30 hryvnias (currently 25).
“In general, the entire procedure for adjusting tariffs will take about a month. Only after that will they be submitted for consideration by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council, which will make the final decision,” explained the Lviv City Council.
The last time transport fares were revised in Lviv was last year – at that time, the cost of fuel was 45 hryvnias per liter, while now it costs over 90 hryvnias.
Additionally, starting Saturday, April 11, free transfers in public transport will be restored in Lviv after a month-long break.
Fare increase
It is worth noting that in Kyiv, for the first time since 2018, the cost of public transport fares may be revised. The capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, stated that he has already instructed the relevant departments to prepare an economic justification for the tariff revision.
Furthermore, in Ternopil, fares for minibuses and trolleybuses have been raised by 5 hryvnias to 20 hryvnias per trip. However, there are benefits for community residents.
It should be noted that the cost of fares in some Kyiv minibuses increased as early as March 14, with new tariffs introduced by individual private carriers.
