The MP revealed to RBC-Ukraine about previously unknown space operations of intelligence
During the full-scale war, Ukrainian intelligence successfully launched missile carriers into space twice.
This was stated in an interview with RBC-Ukraine by MP Fedor Venislavsky, who heads the subcommittee on state security of the defense committee of the Verkhovna Rada.

Details of the space launches by GUR
According to the MP, GUR units have already launched missile carriers into space from the territory of Ukraine twice. The first launch reached an altitude of over 100 kilometers, and the second – 204 kilometers. Both results have been officially recorded by technical means.
“This is a unique situation for a country that is in a state of full-scale war. This means that Ukraine already has the technical capabilities to counter such means of enemy attack and to strike them in space,” Venislavsky said.
According to him, these were not experiments, but the execution of real combat tasks under the leadership of the then head of GUR, Kyrylo Budanov.
“We have missiles that almost no one knows about, but which are capable of striking enemy territory at distances of up to 500 km and flying at hypersonic speeds. And we are successfully using them. But their main purpose is to carry out extraordinary operations, including those we just talked about,” the MP noted.

Launching a rocket from an airplane and “air spaceport”
In addition to these launches, the GUR working group completed another unique task – launched a missile carrier from a transport aircraft at an altitude of about 8 km.
“This was done for the first time on the European continent and the second time in world history. The first to do this were the USA in the mid-1970s. But our launch altitude is a record,” Venislavsky emphasized.
This air system may soon turn into an “air spaceport”. Launching rockets from the air saves energy on passing through dense layers of the atmosphere, significantly increasing range and effectiveness of strikes, the MP explained.
The system is planned to be used for both peaceful purposes and to counter Russian “Oreshnik” missiles.
“These are unique results of our group’s work, led by GUR. We are continuing to work in this direction,” Venislavsky summarized.
