AI that can think: Meta integrates Muse Spark into WhatsApp and Instagram Source: rbc.ua” +rel=”nofollow”

Mark Zuckerberg’s company has introduced an AI model that will serve as the foundation for all Meta services.

Following mixed reviews of Llama 4, the new AI model Muse Spark marks a shift in Meta’s strategy towards creating a universal “smart” assistant for the mass consumer.

The Muse Spark neural network is built as a natively multimodal system. This means that it can simultaneously process text, images, video, and audio without requiring separate add-ons.

Users have access to two key operating modes:

  • Instant – for quick real-time responses.
  • Thinking – an in-depth analysis mode where the model takes additional time to build logical chains before providing a response.

Coordination of agents and personal assistant

One of the main innovations is Spark’s ability to manage a group of AI agents to perform complex tasks. For example, when planning a trip, one part of the system creates the itinerary, while another concurrently selects activities and entertainment, coordinating actions among themselves.

Additionally, the model includes a shopping assistant that helps compare products, analyze their features, and find direct links for purchase, making Muse Spark a fully-fledged digital companion.

Integration into social networks

Meta has already begun integrating Muse Spark into its core products. In the coming weeks, the new AI will become available to users:

  • Facebook;
  • Instagram;
  • WhatsApp.

Currently, the rollout of features is starting in the U.S. through the Meta AI app and the website meta.ai, and will eventually expand to other countries. The company is also considering the possibility of opening the source code for future versions of Muse.
