“The Gypsy King” explained what needs to happen for a third fight with the Ukrainian champion
British boxer Tyson Fury made a triumphant return to the big stage. After his victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov, the “Gypsy King” officially spoke about his future plans.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the boxer’s press conference.

Fury’s triumphant return
The bout in London was Fury’s first appearance after heavy defeats to Usyk in 2024.
The Brit secured a victory over Makhmudov by unanimous decision. This success marked his first win since October 2023, when the “Gypsy King” defeated Francis Ngannou by split decision. Following his triumph, Fury again spoke about his title ambitions.
Usyk or Joshua: the Brit’s priorities
Fury’s main goal remains the “Battle of Britain” against Anthony Joshua, who personally watched the fight from the stands. However, Tyson is already preparing a “Plan B” in case his compatriot declines.
“I want to fight Anthony Joshua. That’s it. Or if AJ doesn’t want to, then let’s do a trilogy with Usyk. But I need a damn fair game,” Fury stated emotionally.

Interestingly, just before the fight, Tyson was in an aggressive mood. When asked about a trilogy with the Ukrainian, he snapped: “Let him go to hell. That’s what I’ll say.” However, after his victory, the Brit’s rhetoric became more pragmatic.
Is the Ukrainian ready for a trilogy?
Usyk, who has already defeated Fury twice, previously noted that he plans to have three fights before the end of his career, with the last one being against the “Gypsy King.”
The Ukrainian’s manager, Egis Klimas, confirmed the champion’s readiness for a third bout, although he expressed doubts about the Brit’s consistency.
“We are ready, but Fury is too unpredictable in his decisions – one moment he’s leaving the sport, the next he’s returning,” Klimas noted.

Usyk – Fury: the rivalry history
Usyk and Fury have met twice in the ring. It is the Ukrainian who has handed his opponent two defeats. No one else has been able to overcome the Brit in his 16-year professional career.
The first meeting took place on May 18, 2024, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Alexander defeated the “Gypsy King” by split decision, taking the WBC title from him and becoming the undisputed world champion in the heavyweight division.
The rematch occurred at the same Saudi arena on December 21, 2024. This confrontation ended with the Ukrainian winning by unanimous decision from the judges.
However, Fury did not acknowledge himself as the loser. Claiming that both bouts actually ended in his favor, the Brit announced his retirement. Yet, just a year later, he decided to make a comeback.
