Kyiv residents are stepping on the same rake, losing chances for gold
Kyiv’s “Dynamo” suffered its second consecutive defeat in the UPL, losing to “Metalist 1925”. Meanwhile, “Karpaty” continued their winning streak and set a club record.

Festive start of the match in Kharkiv
Before the match “Metalist 1925” – “Dynamo”, the teams held a symbolic coin toss in the spirit of Easter traditions. Instead of the usual coin, the captains used Easter eggs.
In this unique “duel,” Artem Shabanov and Andriy Yarmolenko faced off. The representative of the Kharkiv club won, determining the starting conditions of the game.
“Dynamo” lost points in the battle for European cups
The match of the 23rd round of the UPL ended with a minimal victory for “Metalist 1925” – 1:0. The only goal was scored by Denys Antyukh in the 78th minute.
Kyiv residents, who occupied the fourth position before the round, were unable to close the gap from third place. Zhytomyr’s “Polesie” confidently won their match and increased the lead.
After this result, “Dynamo” has 41 points and remains fourth, but the gap from the top three has grown to five points.
Meanwhile, “Metalist 1925” closed in on the capital club, now just three points behind.
“Karpaty” continued their winning streak
Lviv’s “Karpaty” achieved their fourth consecutive victory, defeating “Alexandria” 2:0 and setting a new club record.
Despite the red card for Denys Myroshnychenko in the middle of the match, the hosts opened the scoring in the 75th minute – Yan Kostenko scored after a cross from Cheber Alkaine.
In stoppage time, Jean Pedrozo secured the advantage, converting a chance after a pass from Babukar Faal.
Anti-record for “Alexandria”
The defeat in Lviv marked the 15th consecutive match without a win for “Alexandria” in the UPL – a new anti-record for the club.
“Karpaty” with 32 points climbed to eighth place and closed in on their mid-table rivals. Their next match will be on April 19 against “Epicenter”.

“Karpaty” will play their next match on April 19 away against “Epicenter”. The match is scheduled to start at 15:30 Kyiv time.
