Ukrainian defender delivered one of his most productive performances in 2026 and led the team in a key statistic
Ukrainian basketball player of the “Utah Jazz” Svyatoslav Mykhailiuk showcased a brilliant game in the NBA regular season on the night of April 6. In the matchup against the Western Conference leader, the “Oklahoma City Thunder,” the Ukrainian became one of the most noticeable players on the court.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the official NBA website.

Second-best performance of the year
Mykhailiuk, who has had limited playing time recently (appearing in only 9 of the last 30 games), was given a chance by the coaching staff and made the most of it. Coming off the bench, the 28-year-old Ukrainian played over 23 minutes in the game.
During this time, Svyatoslav scored 17 points – his second-best scoring performance in 2026 (the only higher was in February against “Indiana” – 18). Additionally, Mykhailiuk grabbed 4 rebounds, provided 1 assist, and made 1 steal.
Record attempts and leadership
The main weapon of the Ukrainian once again became long-range shots. Mykhailiuk set his own season record by attempting 14 three-pointers, 5 of which were successful. He scored 15 of his 17 points from beyond the arc.
Despite “Utah” suffering a crushing defeat with a score of 111:146, Svyatoslav was the best on his team in the “+/-” statistic. His result was only (-2), while his starting teammates reached critical levels in this statistic.
Tournament standing of the “Jazz”
For Mykhailiuk’s team, this defeat marked the ninth consecutive loss. Currently, “Utah” occupies the last place in the Western Conference standings (21 wins in 79 games).
There are three games left for the “Jazz” before the end of the regular season. The next one will take place on Wednesday, April 8, against the “New Orleans Pelicans.”
It was previously announced that the NBA will gain two new teams and will reshape the conference boundaries.
