“Dnipro” won the regular season and is aiming for its third championship: the playoff bracket in the basketball Superleague

In the Ukrainian Championship, all quarterfinal matchups have been determined, along with the sole team that has fallen short.

The regular season of the men’s basketball Superleague has concluded. As a result, the quarterfinal playoff pairs have been finalized, with the main intrigue being the Dnipro team’s attempt to secure their third consecutive championship.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the official website of the Basketball Federation of Ukraine.

How the regular season ended

The winner of the regular championship was the reigning champion of Ukraine – “Dnipro.” The team, which has won the last two Superleague titles, confirmed its status as a favorite, finishing the stage with only two losses.

In the final round, real intrigue unfolded in the battle for seventh place: Mykolaiv’s “Niko-Basket” defeated “Hoverla” in a decisive game (84:78). This victory allowed the Mykolaiv team to surpass “Cherkasy Mavpy” and avoid facing the leader in the first round of the playoffs.

Meanwhile, “Rovno” lost its chance for home-court advantage, falling to “Zaporizhzhia” in the final round (74:83).

The only club that did not make it into the top eight and has already finished its season is “Staryi Lutsk.”

Quarterfinal matchups and complete playoff bracket

The quarterfinal series will last until one team wins two games. The opening games are scheduled for April 4.

The matchups are as follows:

  • “Dnipro” (1) – “Cherkasy Mavpy” (8)
  • “Kharkiv Sokoly” (2) – “Niko-Basket” (7)
  • “Kyiv-Basket” (3) – “Zaporizhzhia” (6)
  • “Prykarpattia-Hoverla” (4) – “Rovno” (5)

The first and (if necessary) third games of the series will be hosted by the clubs with the higher seed. The second games of the series will take place on April 7-8, and the decisive ones on April 10-11.

In the semifinals, the winner of the “Dnipro” – “Mavpy” matchup will face the best from the “Hoverla” and “Rovno” clash. The other ticket to the final will be contested by the winners of the pairs involving the Kharkiv and Kyiv teams.

Who has won the Ukrainian Championship

The basketball championship of Ukraine has been held since 1992. In 1996, the tournament was named the Superleague.

Since then, nine clubs have become champions. However, only two “golden” teams are still playing in the Superleague – “Cherkasy Mavpy” and “Dnipro.” The others have ceased to exist for various reasons.
