Historic agreements
According to the head of state, his visit to the Middle East was very beneficial. There, he felt a positive attitude towards Ukraine – towards Ukrainian soldiers and their experience.
The president noted that the Gulf countries share a common vision of working with Ukraine and Ukrainian experts.
“There are already agreements in place, these are historic agreements: Ukraine and Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar. We are also working with Jordan and Kuwait. Currently, Rustem Umerov (Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine – ed.) is in the region, continuing negotiations at the political level – he reported to me today – there are already additional requests from Bahrain and Oman,” the head of state said.
What Ukraine will receive in return
Zelensky stated that for Ukraine’s defense system and the skills of Ukrainian soldiers, he expects cooperation in the field of security.
“We have already agreed on the possibility of strengthening air defense, joint development of defense industries, and also on energy cooperation. This particularly concerns diesel and other necessities that we urgently need right now,” the president added.
Ukraine’s assistance to Middle Eastern countries
Recall that after the start of the American-Israeli operation against Iran, Tehran’s forces began actively attacking facilities in Middle Eastern countries.
In particular, they struck the world’s largest LNG complex in Qatar, as well as oil refineries in Saudi Arabia.
The main problem for Middle Eastern countries has become the Iranian “Shaheds.” To help them defend themselves, Ukraine has sent its drone experts there.
