What are the conditions for recalculating payments?
Starting April 1, 2026, there will be an automatic recalculation of pensions, but it will not affect all citizens. It concerns two categories of working pensioners.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the Pension Fund of Ukraine.

The recalculation will affect pensioners who continued to work after their pension was assigned or previously recalculated and who, as of March 1, 2026, have acquired 24 months of insurance experience.
Additionally, payments will be recalculated for pensioners who have acquired less than 24 months of insurance experience, but two years have passed since their pension was assigned or previously recalculated.
The Pension Fund of Ukraine explained that if, as of March 1, 2026, a pensioner has acquired at least 24 months of insurance experience, the amount of this experience will be taken into account during the recalculation.
If, as of March 1, 2026, a pensioner has acquired less than 24 months of insurance experience, the recalculation will occur no earlier than two years after the assignment of payments or the previous recalculation, only considering the acquired insurance experience.
We remind you that pensioners who are abroad or in occupied territories must undergo an online verification to receive payments in 2026. This can be done through a regular video call, having previously submitted a request on the Pension Fund’s web portal.
Earlier, we reported that in 2026, to retire at 60, one must have at least 33 years of insurance experience, at 63 years – 23 years, and at 65 years – 15 years. Experience can be “purchased” for periods after 2004.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminded pensioners from occupied territories living abroad that they must submit a notification to the Pension Fund about not receiving payments from the Russian Federation by April 1. Otherwise, pension payments may be suspended.
