The GUR “disassembled” a new Russian drone: whose parts are in the “Prince Oleg the Prophet”

What did the research show?

The Main Intelligence Directorate has published a list of foreign components used in the Russian reconnaissance drone “Prince Vsevolod Oleg.” The Russian manufacturer continues to use parts from China, Switzerland, and Taiwan despite sanctions.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the War&Sanctions portal.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the developer and manufacturer of this UAV is the Russian Scientific and Production Center “Ushkunik,” which also creates other types of drones, including FPV drones and interception systems.

Drone specifications

The drone has a wingspan of 2.8 meters and a takeoff weight of up to 11 kg. The claimed specifications include:

  • range of up to 45 km;
  • flight duration of up to 3.5 hours;
  • speed of up to 130 km/h;
  • flight altitude of up to 3,000 meters.

The UAV is equipped with two cameras, including a course IP camera of Chinese manufacture and a gyro-stabilized optical system with artificial intelligence functions for real-time target detection and tracking.

It is also noted that a flight controller based on STMicroelectronics microcontrollers (manufactured in China and Taiwan) and components from CUAV Technology are used.

To protect against electronic warfare, a four-channel CRP antenna is employed, and movement is powered by SunnySky electric motors made in China.

The Main Intelligence Directorate notes that the drone’s manufacturer is currently under sanctions only from Ukraine, the EU, and Switzerland.

Other countries in the sanctions coalition have not yet imposed restrictions against this developer, allowing Russia to maintain access to foreign technologies through intermediaries.

Analysis of enemy equipment by the Main Intelligence Directorate

Analysts from the Main Intelligence Directorate continue to study new samples of Russian weaponry in detail.

In particular, in March, the intelligence agency released interactive 3D models and descriptions of the components of loitering munitions “Lancet” and “Scalpel.”

Experts examined the wreckage of a drone shot down over Kyiv on March 16, which was identified as a modified “Lancet.”

Additionally, earlier, scouts reported on a new drone of the “Shahed” type (“Geran-2” series “E”), equipped with an air-to-air missile R-60.

It has also been established that the Russian turbojet “Shahed” contains components from the USA, China, Switzerland, and other countries.
