The national women’s hockey team of Ukraine secured its second consecutive victory at the World Championship in Division IIB. In the second round, the team coached by Yevgeny Alipov left no chances for the New Zealand team, scoring eight goals.

The match started with complete initiative from the Ukrainians. Polina Telegina opened the scoring in the 9th minute.
Although the opponents temporarily leveled the score by taking advantage of a numerical superiority, Valeria Manchak quickly restored the lead for the “blue and yellow” team.
Before the first break, Telegina managed to score a double, ensuring a comfortable 3:1 lead.
The second period became crucial: the Ukrainian team launched a real assault, sending five unanswered goals into the New Zealand net.
The main heroes of the attack were Telegina and Manchak, each recording a hat-trick.
In particular, Manchak demonstrated impressive efficiency, adding four assists to her three goals.
Also contributing with accurate shots were Tsymirenko and Kipria.

In the final 20 minutes, the Ukrainian team failed to score for the first time in the tournament, conceding one goal from Kelly Nelson.
The final score of 8:2 allowed the Ukrainians to take a convincing revenge against New Zealand for the frustrating losses in 2020 and 2025.
Thanks to this success, Yevgeny Alipov’s team has accumulated 6 points and climbed to the top of the tournament table.
Currently, Ukraine is ahead of competitors from Mexico, Hong Kong, and Lithuania, although the last two teams have a game in hand.
The next challenge awaits the “blue and yellow” team on Thursday, April 2. The Ukrainian hockey players will face representatives from Belgium.
The game will start at 11:00 Kyiv time. Recall that only the group winner will earn a spot in the higher division (IIA).
