Where will the air warm up to +21°C and what about the rain?
Warm weather will soon return to Ukraine, and nighttime frosts will finally recede. However, the synoptic situation remains unstable, so we shouldn’t expect “only sunshine” just yet.
This was stated in a brief interview with RBC-Ukraine by meteorologist from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center Ivan Semilit.

Main points:
- Nighttime frosts: Frosts are still likely tonight in the air and on the ground, but not everywhere.
- Precipitation: Midweek will see an increase in rain in some regions, with April 18 potentially bringing rain to almost all of Ukraine.
- Heat peak: On April 15, a true summer is expected in Transcarpathia, with thermometers rising to +21°C.
- Temperature changes: Nighttime temperatures in Ukraine will stabilize and rise, with daytime averages around +13…+18°C.
- Projected trends: From April 19 to 23, moderate warmth of +11…+18°C will persist in Ukraine, but the weather will remain unstable with periodic rain.
How will the weather change in the near future
– We can say that it will warm up a bit. This is due to the spread of a high-pressure system over us.
Tonight, we still expect frosts in the air in the Right Bank of the country, around 0-3°C.
In the rest of the territory, we expect nighttime temperatures to be between 1-6 degrees Celsius (except for the eastern regions). On the ground, we will have frosts of 0-3°C.
This means that in the Right Bank, they will be in the air. In all other regions (except the east) – on the ground.
As for daytime maximums, tomorrow we expect +11…+16 degrees Celsius.
In Transcarpathia, up to +19°C. In the east and northeast, it will be a bit cooler, +7…+12°C.
Overall, regarding weather conditions, variable cloudiness will prevail.
Thanks to the high-pressure system, we expect dry weather.
Only in the east of the country will it be rainy during the day due to an incoming cyclone.
Air flows will predominantly be from the northwest tomorrow. In the west of the country, they will be from the southeast, at speeds of 7-12 meters per second.
Also, tomorrow in the eastern and Sumy regions, we expect local gusts of wind up to 15-20 meters per second.

What will happen with precipitation and temperature midweek
– Looking ahead, we will continue to have variable cloudiness, with dry weather expected on April 15 and 16.
Only on April 15 in the northeast of the country will there be light rain, and moderate rain in the Carpathians during the day.
The rain in the northeast will be due to the remnants of the cyclone still affecting the area.
In the Carpathians, a new atmospheric front will bring moderate rain.
On April 16, we expect light rain only in the western regions, as this atmospheric front spreads across all western areas.
This means that in the northeast, we will have residual processes from the cyclone that will move into the eastern regions tomorrow.
The rain in the Carpathians on April 15 and in the western regions on April 16 will be caused by this new atmospheric front coming from Western Europe.
Nighttime temperatures will be frost-free. We expect them to be between +3…+8 degrees.
During the day on April 15, thermometers in most regions will rise to +13…+18°C.
In principle, similar temperature values are expected on April 16 as well.
Only on April 15 in Transcarpathia we expect up to +21°C… This is because Transcarpathia is protected by mountains from the influx of cooler air from the north. Therefore, it will be a bit warmer there, plus there will be sunshine.
In the east and northeast of the country, it will be a bit cooler, +9…+14°C.
What weather can we expect at the end of the work week
– On April 17-18, we will see a bit more precipitation overall. But they will be localized and light.
On April 18, moderate rain will occur across the entire territory of Ukraine.
Only in the east on April 17 and in Transcarpathia and the south of the country will the weather be dry.
This situation will be due to the atmospheric front stretching across Ukraine, causing such localized precipitation.
Temperature values will not undergo significant changes.
Nighttime temperatures will be +3…+9°C, and daytime temperatures will be +8…+14°C.
In the south and east of the country, and on April 17 – in Transcarpathia – thermometers will rise to +18°C.
What weather trends are expected later in Ukraine
– In the future, occasional rain will fall in Ukraine. The situation will remain unstable.
Temperature values will not undergo significant changes again.
Nighttime temperatures will be +3…+9°C, slightly cooler in the west of the country, +1…+6°C. Daytime temperatures will reach up to +18°C.
On April 19, we expect temperatures of +8…+14°C, slightly cooler.
Overall, +11…+18°C is expected from April 19 to 23.
