In the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, grain has been illegally cultivated for years: there is a risk to people.

The basis of the scheme was a decision by a non-existent district council

The Office of the Prosecutor General demands the return of more than 190 hectares of land in the Chernobyl zone, which were illegally used for growing wheat and corn.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the Office of the Prosecutor General.

According to the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, three land plots in the Vyshhorod district (in the exclusion zone and the mandatory resettlement zone) illegally changed their status.

State registrars transferred the lands managed by the relevant state body to communal ownership, while the right to use them was unjustifiably granted to a private company.

A decision by a non-existent district council

The investigation established that the basis for these actions was a decision by the Polissya District Council, which does not actually exist. Furthermore, the perpetrators used state land acts from the former collective enterprise “Svitank,” which is in the process of liquidation and has no successors.

Thus, since 2020, these lands have been used for growing wheat and corn. No special permits for such activities were issued, which, according to the prosecutor’s office, poses a serious risk to the life and health of people.

The Office of the Prosecutor General has already filed a lawsuit in the Economic Court of Kyiv Oblast for the return of the land plots to the state. The arguments of law enforcement are supported by collected evidence, including expert conclusions.

Recall that the director of the company that financed the construction of residential complexes and offices in several cities of Ukraine has been notified of suspicion of tax evasion exceeding 53 million hryvnias in absentia. Sources from RBC-Ukraine reported that this concerns Yegor Maslennikov.

It should be noted that a large network of fraudulent call centers has been dismantled in Dnipro. The criminals deceived people out of money through fake “romantic” encounters and counterfeit cryptocurrency exchanges – the losses from their activities amounted to millions of hryvnias.
