Which NATO country will help the U.S. with the strait?
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that NATO countries allegedly want to assist in the demining of the Strait of Hormuz. Moreover, some of them, according to him, are already sending minesweepers.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Fox News.

“We are very disappointed in NATO. Very, very disappointed that they did not join us. Now they want to come and help with the strait, to clear it. It won’t take long. We will clear the strait, and they will be able to use it,” Trump said.
According to him, the coalition of countries that will engage in demining the strait will include the United Kingdom. However, it should be noted that London has not yet confirmed this.
“As far as I understand, the United Kingdom and several other countries are sending minesweepers there,” the president said.
Trump also added that the U.S. will establish a “complete blockade” of Iran at sea, similar to what was done with Venezuela. According to him, Washington will not allow Tehran to profit from oil by selling it to those it likes and not selling to those it does not like.
In addition, the American leader made several other statements:
- we need to reassess our relationship with NATO since they did not support us;
- Iran has no cards. Tehran has not left the negotiating table; I believe it will return and give us everything we want;
- I told our people that I don’t want 90% of the demands and I don’t want 95%. I want all our demands to be met;
- Iran will never get nuclear weapons;
- I could destroy Iran in one day;
- The U.S. is ready to continue strikes against Iran if Tehran does not stop trying to block the Strait of Hormuz.
- The U.S. will impose a 50% tariff on China or goods from any other country if they “catch” them supplying military equipment to Iran.
U.S.-Iran negotiations have failed
Recall that this morning, after dozens of hours of negotiations, U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance stated that Washington and Tehran failed to reach an agreement to end the war. As a result, the American delegation is returning home without a document.
Just a couple of hours ago, Donald Trump wrote on his social media that the negotiations in Pakistan between the U.S. and Iran went well. The parties managed to agree on many issues; however, Iran’s refusal to abandon its pursuit of nuclear weapons negates everything.
Trump also stated that due to the failure of the negotiations, the American fleet is beginning to blockade the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, no ship will be able to enter or exit from there. Thus, the U.S. will not allow Iran to profit, as it is known that Tehran has recently started charging fees.
