The Russian dictator has already given orders to his troops
The Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has decided on a ceasefire with Ukraine for Easter. It will begin on April 11.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Kremlin’s press service.

“In connection with the upcoming Orthodox holiday of Easter, a ceasefire is declared from 16:00 on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026,” the Kremlin’s statement said.
To his Minister of Defense Andrei Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov, the head of the Kremlin has already given orders to “halt hostilities in all directions” during this period.
The Kremlin added that Moscow “expects Ukraine to follow Russia’s example.”
RBC-Ukraine has reached out to the Office of the President of Ukraine for a comment on whether Kyiv has received official notifications from the Russian side regarding the ceasefire.
The initiator of the ceasefire is Ukraine
Recall that at the end of March, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that he was ready for a ceasefire with Russia during the Easter holidays.
According to him, in the 2-3 days of a ceasefire, Russia will not be able to strengthen its positions on the front, so such an initiative will not affect the fighting.
Reacting to this initiative, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed that there was supposedly no clear initiative from Ukraine regarding the ceasefire.
As of today, April 9, Peskov added that Kremlin head Vladimir Putin has not yet made a decision regarding the Easter ceasefire.
It is worth noting that last year, Putin also announced an Easter ceasefire. It was supposed to start at 18:00 on April 19 and last until the end of the day on April 21.
However, the Russians, as usual, violated their own promise. In particular, on April 20, around 80 clashes were recorded on the front.
