Snow-covered cities and roads shown in video
A number of western and northern regions of Ukraine have been “covered” with snow since the night of April 9, and drivers are warned about the possible ice on the roads.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram of the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Svitlana Onyshchuk, and social media.

According to the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, the weather conditions in the region are deteriorating. Snow removal equipment has been working in the mountainous areas for the past 24 hours, and anti-icing treatments have been carried out on the roads, particularly at mountain passes.
According to meteorologists’ forecasts, precipitation in the form of rain and wet snow is possible in the region. Wind gusts of up to 15-20 m/s are expected. In some areas, the air temperature will drop to -2°.
“Such weather conditions may complicate road traffic. I urge drivers to be as attentive and cautious as possible, to adhere to speed limits and safety rules,” noted Onyshchuk.
It is worth noting that snowfalls and even blizzards were recorded this morning and afternoon in Transcarpathia, as well as in Chernihiv, Rivne, Zhytomyr, and Volyn regions. In some places, a small snow cover has formed.
Where the precipitation and cold came from in Ukraine
Meteorologist Ivan Semilyt from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center previously told RBC-Ukraine in a quick interview that the current cold weather in most regions of the country is due to a northern process in the atmosphere.
This refers to a cyclone from Scandinavia that is moving eastward. In its rear part, there is an intrusion of arctic air from the northern directions, which is how the cold reaches our territory.
