How is traffic organized near Kyiv during the bridge restoration?
Temporary traffic restrictions are being introduced on the M-06 Kyiv-Chop highway due to repair work. Drivers are warned about the phased closure of lanes in one of the sections.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in Kyiv Oblast.

Where and how long will the restrictions last
From April 8, 2026, restrictions will be in effect on the section km 51+700 – km 52+700 in the village of Kalynivka, Kyiv Oblast. This applies to directions towards both Kyiv and Zhytomyr.
Traffic will be partially closed due to repair work on the bridge. This concerns the facility at km 54+863 (road T-10-19 Fenevychi – Borodyanka – Makariv – Byshiv).
Restrictions will be introduced in phases, with the closure of individual traffic lanes. Tentatively, this will last until early August 2026.
The work will be carried out in accordance with approved traffic organization schemes.
What drivers are advised to do
Drivers are asked to:
- consider the restrictions when planning routes;
- follow temporary road signs;
- be attentive in the work zone.
The service emphasizes the need for caution and understanding during the repair work.
Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported on the catastrophic state of roads in Ukraine after winter and the lack of funds for their repair. Roads have been massively destroyed due to temperature fluctuations, overloads, and the absence of systematic maintenance, while full restoration lacks funding – currently, only partial repairs of key highways are planned.
We also wrote about the extension of traffic restrictions in Kyiv due to metro construction. Specifically, the closure on European Union Avenue has been extended until December 2026 due to active work on the metro construction in Vynogradar, and transport will continue to operate on temporary schemes.
