Zelensky met with the President of Syria: they agreed to work in the fields of security and economy.

Countries have a strong interest in exchanging military and security experience

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa. As a result of the meeting, there are agreements between the countries.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the head of state.

According to Zelensky, Ukraine and Syria agreed to work together to provide more security and opportunities for the development of “our societies.” The parties also discussed a number of issues and expressed interest in exchanging experiences.

“We discussed the situation in the region and the prospects for its improvement. We also talked about the circumstances of Russia’s war against Ukraine, and I am grateful for the support. There is a strong interest in exchanging military and security experience. Thank you for your words of respect for our people,” the president informed.

Additionally, the parties touched upon Ukraine’s role as a reliable supplier of food products. In this context, the leaders discussed joint opportunities for the countries to strengthen throughout the region.

“We understand very well the energy and infrastructure challenges that Syria is facing right now. We are ready to work together to enhance the capabilities of our states and peoples,” Zelensky added.

Zelensky in the Middle East

We remind you that today President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived on an official visit to Syria. He noted that Ukraine continues its active diplomacy for “real security and economic interaction.” The head of state announced that important meetings are ahead and several substantive formats have been prepared.

We also reported that yesterday Zelensky was on a visit to Turkey, where he met with the country’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The parties agreed on cooperation in the field of security and discussed steps for implementing gas infrastructure development projects.

Furthermore, Erdoğan stated that Turkey is ready to host the next round of peace talks between Ukraine, the USA, and Russia.
