Grain Agreement

During the conversation, the President of Egypt stated that his country will no longer accept grain exported by Russia from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. At the same time, Cairo is interested in increasing grain imports from Ukraine.

“Thank you for this decision,” Zelensky noted.

Peace and Cooperation

The parties discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, as well as its impact on the global oil market. The President of Egypt confirmed his readiness to make efforts to achieve a “decent peace.”

The leaders agreed that foreign ministers would continue their contacts.

Military-Technical Cooperation

Zelensky informed his Egyptian counterpart about meetings and agreements with Gulf countries.

He emphasized that Ukraine has significant potential for military-technical cooperation and is ready to work in this direction with Egypt as well. The leaders also discussed other areas for developing bilateral cooperation.

It is worth noting that Russia systematically exports grain from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and sells it on international markets. Ukraine consistently fights against this practice.

In 2025, the Ukrainian side seized a Russian vessel in the Black Sea that was exporting wheat from occupied Crimea under a foreign flag.

At that time, Ukraine warned importing countries of strict measures in case of purchasing stolen grain and demanded that the EU impose sanctions against Bangladesh, which continued to buy such products.
