According to Trump, Bondi is an American patriot who has “diligently served as Attorney General” over the past year.
The American leader added that under Bondi, “the number of murders in the U.S. has dropped to its lowest level since 1900.”
“We love Pam, and she will move to a new, very necessary and important position in the private sector, which will be announced in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, a very talented and respected lawyer Todd Blanche, will assume the role of Acting Attorney General,” he noted.
Possible reason for the dismissal
The U.S. President did not specify why he decided to dismiss his Attorney General.
Just today, CNN, citing its own sources, reported that Trump had secretly discussed the possibility of firing Bondi “in private conversations.”
Sources from the publication claim that the American leader was irritated by the negative reaction of his voters to the administration’s actions regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Additionally, according to CNN’s sources, Trump was unhappy that Bondi was not actively investigating cases against his political opponents.
Journalists clarified that as a candidate to replace Bondi, the American leader is considering the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Lee Zeldin.
Pam Bondi is an American lawyer and Republican politician who has served as Attorney General of the United States since 2025.
Prior to that, she was the Attorney General of Florida and had been considered by Donald Trump for various positions in his administration since 2018.
Her confirmation in the Senate passed with a vote of 54 to 46, mostly along party lines.
