SBU prevented a terrorist attack in Odessa and detained the organizer
The SBU detained a Russian agent who attempted to blow up a truck carrying valuable equipment for a heating supply facility in Odessa.

“The Security Service has prevented another terrorist attack in Odessa. As a result of preemptive actions, a Russian agent was detained who attempted to blow up a truck with expensive equipment for a local heating supply facility,” the SBU noted.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator placed a homemade explosive device (HED) under the truck transporting equipment to the energy facility.
The suspect planned to remotely detonate the bomb using calls to the primary and “backup” mobile phones that were equipped with the explosives.
SBU officers acted preemptively – they deactivated the HED in advance and detained the agent.
What is known about the suspect
According to the case materials, the detainee turned out to be a resident of Chernivtsi, who was recruited by Russian intelligence services via Telegram.
Following the enemy’s instructions, the suspect traveled to Odessa, rented an apartment, manufactured the HED, and hid it in a metal canister. Soon, the perpetrator arrived at the site of the planned attack and attempted to remotely activate the bomb after placing it.
During searches, components for making the HED and other evidence of working for the enemy were seized from the detainee. The perpetrator is in custody without the right to bail. She faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Attempts of terrorist acts by Russians
Recall that earlier the SBU uncovered a Russian espionage network that was preparing caches with components for explosive devices for terrorist attacks in western Ukraine.
Additionally, in Lviv, two minors planned to carry out an explosion near a military officer’s house, but they were detained.
Moreover, in Odessa, a couple was preparing a terrorist attack near the location of Ukrainian military personnel on the orders of Russian intelligence services.
