Trump increases military budget to $1.5 trillion: what exactly will be improved in the US Army

This will be the largest increase in U.S. military spending since World War II

The U.S. will increase its defense budget to $1.5 trillion, marking the largest rise in military expenditures since World War II.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the BBC.

Where the money will go

Of the total amount, approximately $1.1 trillion will be allocated for discretionary Pentagon spending, which is the highest figure on record.

Another $350 billion is specifically for the industrial defense base.

The budget also proposes pay raises for military personnel and allocates $65.8 billion for shipbuilding, particularly for what U.S. President Donald Trump has called the “Golden Fleet” of next-generation vessels.

These include heavily armed Trump-class battleships introduced in December.

Additionally, the budget includes an unspecified amount of funding for the “Golden Dome” costing $185 billion, which, according to officials, will encompass several layers of ground, sea, and space sensors and interceptors designed to protect the U.S. from next-generation missiles and drones.

Trump’s focus on defense

U.S. President Donald Trump has long expressed his desire to increase the defense budget and stimulate domestic defense production.

At a closed event at the White House earlier this week, which was captured on camera, Trump stated that military spending should be a national priority moving forward.

“We can’t be taking care of kids, Medicaid, Medicare, all these separate things; they can do that at the state level,” the U.S. president said, adding that the focus should be on “military protection.”

It is known that the increase in defense spending in the U.S. is accompanied by cuts in funding for domestic needs. This specifically involves the cancellation of funding for certain programs related to climate, housing, and education.
