US Ground Operation: Trump May Consider Three Scenarios for Iran

The US president may be considering a strike on the islands of Kharg and Qeshm

The administration of US President Donald Trump is contemplating the possibility of expanding the US military presence in the Middle East, including strikes on strategic Iranian targets.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing CNBS.

Specifically, it concerns scenarios around the strategic islands in the Persian Gulf.

According to media reports, the US may send additional thousands of troops to the region amid escalating conflict with Iran. Various options for action are being considered, including operations against key facilities that are critical to the Iranian economy and military infrastructure.

In particular, the focus is on Kharg Island – Iran’s main oil export hub, through which up to 90% of the country’s oil supplies pass.

Previously, the US had already carried out large-scale strikes on this island, destroying over 90 military facilities, but not affecting the oil infrastructure.

Scenarios related to other strategic points are also being discussed, particularly Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz, which is significant for controlling maritime routes.

Against this backdrop, Washington continues to increase its military presence in the region – the largest deployment of forces since the Iraq War in 2003.

As is known, the escalation around Iran is occurring amid heightened tensions regarding Tehran’s nuclear program and the security of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz – one of the key oil supply routes in the world.

And although recently the US president has mentioned the possibility of scaling back military activity in Iran, he has not officially ruled out a ground operation.
