“Gazprom” and “Rosneft” assisted in transporting Ukrainian children to Russia, – CPD

The report concerns more than 2,000 children from Donbas and the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.

Russian state energy companies “Gazprom” and “Rosneft” are involved in the transportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and attempts at their re-education.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from an analysis by Yale University and the Center for Political Studies.

According to researchers, more than 2,000 children from Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions have been transferred to camps in Russia and occupied Crimea.

Some of these camps were owned by “Gazprom” structures or were linked to it, while “Rosneft” facilitated the sending of children through its own union programs.

It turned out that the companies funded trips through special vouchers, allowing children to attend camps with ideological influence programs.

Moreover, some of these relocations occurred without proper parental consent. This undermines the propaganda justification of “evacuating” or “rehabilitating” children.

The publication reminds that the forced relocation of children from occupied territories and their subsequent “re-education” is a war crime that has already been documented by international institutions, including the International Criminal Court.

New evidence only strengthens the understanding of the scale: a centralized state policy aimed at changing the identity of Ukrainian children, utilizing the resources of large corporations for its implementation.

It should be noted that a recent independent UN commission stated that the forced relocation of Ukrainian children by Russia constitutes a war crime.

In this regard, in 2023, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova on suspicion of the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
