Support from the United States has emerged at a time when Viktor Orban is facing the most serious challenge in recent years.
U.S. President Donald Trump has called on the citizens of Hungary to support Viktor Orban in the elections. Trump referred to him as a “true fighter” and a “winner.”
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, the U.S. president published his statement on the social network Truth Social.

Thus, ahead of the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12, 2026, the American leader urged the Hungarian people to vote for the current head of government, Viktor Orban.

- Strong leadership: Trump called Orban a “powerful leader with proven experience” who tirelessly fights for his country.

Additionally, Trump’s statement came against the backdrop of scandalous reports about possible provocations by foreign intelligence services and discussions in the EU about blocking loans for Ukraine due to Budapest’s position.

RBC-Ukraine also reported that Russian intelligence planned to stage an assassination attempt on Viktor Orban. According to journalists, this provocation aimed to change the course of the elections in the country.
