The relevant decision was made by the executive committee of the city council.
How much will the fare cost
The new tariffs will be as follows:
- 15 hryvnias – when paying with the electronic ticket “Social Card of a Ternopil resident”;
- 17 hryvnias – when paying with a non-personalized electronic ticket;
- 20 hryvnias – when paying with a bank card, NFC device, or a single ticket.
Who is eligible for benefits
Students and pupils will be able to travel for free on trolleybuses and municipal buses. In private transport, they will receive a 50% discount.
Free travel is also maintained for pensioners, persons with disabilities, and combat veterans.
What else will change
The city will have a unified fare for both municipal and private transport. Additionally, the “Unified Ticket” service will operate, allowing unlimited transfers within 30 minutes.
The city council also reminded that community residents can obtain a “Social Card of a Ternopil resident”, which allows for savings on travel.
“It can be obtained not only by Ternopil residents but also by those who work or study in the community,” the message states.
Recall that starting March 14, the fare for some private minibuses in Kyiv increased to 20 hryvnias due to rising fuel and maintenance costs. At the same time, prices for public transport remain unchanged.
The cost of travel has also increased in Zhytomyr. Meanwhile, in Lviv region, the decision has been postponed for now.
