The Russian authorities offered a deal to the US. Moscow promised to stop sharing intelligence with Iran if Washington ceased such exchanges with Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing Politico.

According to sources from the publication, the proposal was voiced by Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev to Trump representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during a meeting in Miami last week.

In particular, Russia was prepared to stop providing Iran with precise coordinates of American bases in the Middle East. In return, Moscow wanted Ukraine’s Defense Forces to be left without American intelligence.

Sources told the publication that the Trump administration rejected these negotiations. However, the mere attempt at such an agreement provoked outrage among European diplomats, who see it as an attempt by Moscow to sow discord between Europe and the US at a critical moment.

As Politico writes, such a deal would heighten suspicions in Europe that the meetings between Witkoff and Dmitriev are not leading to concrete progress in the context of peace negotiations, but are merely attempts by Moscow to negotiate with Washington behind the backs of European countries.

Another source for the journalists noted that the US rejected the proposal from Russian officials regarding the transfer of enriched uranium from Iran to Russia.

Possible assistance to Iran from Russia

Earlier, Western media reported that Russia could be providing Iran with the coordinates of American military bases in the Middle East.

Commenting on these reports, US special representative Steve Witkoff stated that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin assured Donald Trump that Moscow is not providing such assistance to Tehran.

On March 13, US President Donald Trump acknowledged that Putin “is helping Iran a little.” According to the American leader, the Kremlin chief acts this way “thinking that the US is helping Ukraine.”
