What prompted such harsh words about allies?
Without the participation of the United States, NATO turns into a “paper tiger,” while European allies show cowardice by refusing military operations to lower oil prices.
This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump, as reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing his social media platform Truth Social.

Criticism of Allies
Trump harshly criticized partners for their passivity in countering Iran’s nuclear ambitions and their unwillingness to take responsibility for fuel market stability.
“Without the U.S., NATO is a ‘paper tiger’! They did not want to engage in the fight against a nuclear Iran. Now they complain about high oil prices but refuse to help open the Strait of Hormuz,” he emphasized.
Accusations of Cowardice
According to the politician, the operation to unblock the strait is a simple military maneuver with minimal risk, yet Alliance members avoid decisive actions.
“It would be so easy for them to do, with such minimal risk. Cowards, and we remember!” Trump added.
What preceded Trump’s statement
Recall that it was previously reported that several European countries are conducting secret negotiations with Iran to stabilize the situation in the region, trying to avoid direct military confrontation.
Additionally, according to sources, NATO allies have already denied Donald Trump direct military assistance, yet the United States continues to insist on a more active role for the Alliance in operations in the Middle East.
It is also worth noting that the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has become the subject of emergency consultations among the leaders of major world countries, as this route is crucial for global energy supply.
