Is there anything more important than preserving territories?
For Ukraine in the war against the Russian Federation, the most important thing is people; territories are also important, but that is a secondary issue.
As reported by RBC-Ukraine, this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodyr Zelensky in an interview with blogger Max Klimenko.

“Russia is not winning. They have not achieved any of their goals, just as they have not since the very beginning. They wanted to completely occupy Donbas, but they did not succeed. And, of course, they wanted to occupy the capital. They did not achieve that either,” Zelensky noted.
According to him, they are now losing between 30,000 and 35,000 of their own military personnel every month.
“People are number one. Land is a secondary issue. But people—people are the most important,” the head of state emphasized.
He also highlighted that if we look at the last year or two, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have almost the same positions. Only the losses are increasing.
“The Russians cannot break through our defensive lines, although they try to do so every day. That is why such a position on the battlefield does not give them victory. That is why they are trying to create chaos with missiles targeting energy and civilian infrastructure,” the President of Ukraine added.
Zelensky also noted that Ukraine today is “number one” in the field of security, as there is no other country in the world that could truly destroy, for example, 500 Iranian drones in just one day.
Earlier, Zelensky stated that there are five reasons why the Russian Federation might feel stronger in the next negotiations.
He also pointed out that the aggressor country sees the active use of air defense missiles in the Middle East and the Gulf region, so it may think that Kyiv will face a shortage of them as well.
The President of Ukraine told BBC that he has a “very bad feeling” regarding the new round of peace negotiations with the Russian Federation. The concern is related to the fact that the USA has shifted its focus from Ukraine to the war in Iran.
