Fire engulfed 150 square meters in a utility building in Pechersk
A fire broke out in the Pechersk district of Kyiv, likely igniting in a utility building on the grounds of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kyiv.

Information about the fire on Lavrska Street was received by rescuers on April 7 at 1:11 PM. A one-story inactive building was on fire.
The fire was extinguished by 1:43 PM. The flames covered an area of 150 square meters.
According to rescuers, no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Earlier, social media reported that a building on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was on fire.
What caused it
The cause of the fire will be investigated by law enforcement. The circumstances of the fire are currently being clarified.
Recall that on the night of January 24, 2026, during a massive shelling, objects of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which are on the UNESCO list, were damaged. In particular, buildings near the Far Caves and a church were damaged, windows and doors were shattered, but the caves themselves survived. Specialists are already conducting inspections and preparing for restoration.
In early February of this year, the reserve suspended the reception of guests due to severe frosts to ensure people’s safety and preserve historical monuments. Restrictions were in place until weather conditions improved, after which operations resumed.
