Wind gusts may be dangerous

Forecasters have warned residents of the capital and Kyiv region about dangerous meteorological phenomena – strong wind gusts.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a publication from the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center on Facebook.

When the bad weather will hit Kyiv and for how long

According to the warning from specialists at UkrHMC about dangerous meteorological phenomena, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected across Kyiv and the Kyiv region:

  • in the near future;
  • lasting until the end of the day on April 7.

“The danger level is yellow,” emphasized experts from the UkrHMC.

It is noted that such weather conditions may lead to complications:

  • the operation of energy, construction, and utility enterprises;
  • transport movement.

It is also worth noting that according to the forecast for April 7, the weather in Kyiv and the region is expected to be cloudy, with some clearings during the day.

There is a possibility of light rain in some areas.

What the Kyiv residents are advised by the KCSA

The press service of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), considering the predicted dangerous weather phenomena, reminded that during strong winds it is necessary to:

  • at home – securely close all windows;
  • outdoors – stay away from billboards, power lines, and trees;
  • drivers – do not park vehicles near them.

Where Kyiv residents can turn in emergencies

Residents and guests of the capital were also informed about whom to contact and what phone numbers to call in various emergency situations.

If a tree has fallen or branches have broken – call the emergency dispatch service of the KP “Kyivzelenstroy”: (044) 272-40-18.

When the falling of trees or branches threatens lives – contact the rescuers:

  • either 101;
  • or (044) 430-37-13 (the phone of the KARS – municipal emergency rescue service “Kyiv Rescue Service”).

In case of injuries to people, it is necessary to call 103 immediately.

Finally, in case of malfunctioning traffic lights or road signs – contact the Traffic Organization Center (TOC) at: (050) 387-35-42.
