Who will be affected by the new regulation?

The Cabinet has made an important decision to address the shortage of personnel in agriculture. In particular, the requirement for three years of experience to operate agricultural machinery has been abolished.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“Drivers who have a license to operate trucks, buses, and minibuses (categories C1, C, D1, D), even with less than three years of experience, have been granted the right to operate certain types of agricultural machinery without obtaining a tractor operator’s certificate,” the head of government said.

This applies to machines in categories A1, A2, B1, B2, B3 – tractors, self-propelled grain and corn harvesting machines, self-propelled machines for harvesting root crops, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, and berries, and so on.

Svyrydenko noted that agricultural producers are facing a personnel shortage, as many tractor operators are currently defending the country in the Defense Forces.

“Such simplification of conditions will help attract additional workers, especially during peak fieldwork periods – sowing and harvesting. This is part of the government’s decisions to ensure the country’s food security,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

It is worth noting that in Ukraine, over 1.3 million people have already taken advantage of the opportunity to receive cashback for fuel. Since the program’s inception, more than 200,000 new accounts have been opened in the “National Cashback” initiative.

Additionally, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has shared an important nuance for drivers. The question is whether one can drive with an expired driver’s license during wartime.

RBC-Ukraine previously reported that the Ukrainian labor market is facing a chronic shortage of personnel, new requirements for candidates, and a rethinking of the employer’s role. Companies are finding it increasingly difficult to compete solely on salaries, as some of the rules of the game are dictated by the war.
