In particular, the head of state spoke about the results of the report by NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov following the first stage of work with partners in the Middle East and the Gulf region.

“It is important that Ukrainian military expertise is recognized, and the combat experience of our warriors becomes a strong part of the defense of our partners. Every nation deserves security, and we are ready to promptly and effectively support those who support our state and independence,” Zelensky emphasized.

Defense in the sky and at sea

The president noted that this concerns protection against strike and other types of drones in the sky, as well as addressing security tasks at sea.

He emphasized that Ukraine’s experience in the Black Sea “can be applied to other globally important maritime routes.”

“At this stage, Ukraine is in communication regarding security with Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. There are requests for cooperation with Iraq,” the president’s statement said.

Zelensky added that today the potential for joint work with the Caucasus states, as well as East and Southeast Asia, was discussed.

“There are substantive requests from African countries. We are preparing the foundation for deeper security agreements in Europe – we expect to achieve results this week. I instructed the Secretary of the NSDC of Ukraine to finalize drafts of several new security agreements and prepare them for signing,” he reported.

Recall that NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that allies on the eastern flank of the alliance and Gulf countries are being protected from drones thanks to Ukrainian technologies. He noted that these developments did not exist a year ago.

It should be noted that at the end of March, Zelensky signed agreements with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar for protection against Iranian drones. He reported that additional requests had also come from Bahrain and Oman.
