Will the curfew in Kyiv change for Easter: police explanation Source: rbc.ua” +rel=”nofollow”

What to do for those who want to attend the night service?

The curfew in Kyiv on Easter will remain unchanged – from midnight to five in the morning. However, there are churches where services will be held at night.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, this was stated by the press secretary of the Kyiv police, Anna Strashok, during the “Kyiv Time” broadcast.

“We have been working with the clergy regarding refraining from holding night services. In most of them, the service will take place until the evening and the next morning, but there are some where the service will continue throughout the night,” she said.

Strashok noted that if citizens plan to join the night service, they should arrange everything so that they either return home before the curfew begins or stay in the church after it starts.

She also responded to whether it would be considered a violation of the curfew if a person leaves the church and goes outside from midnight to five in the morning.

“This will not be considered a violation; we all understand if there is some force majeure situation or a need to go out or return home if necessary. Police officers are understanding of these situations,” Strashok explained.

Police work on Easter

Recall that the National Police reported that during the Easter holidays, law enforcement officers are working in an enhanced mode. Police crews are as close as possible to places of worship.

If necessary, preventive measures may be taken, including selective surface checks, solely to prevent provocations and ensure the safety of people.

Easter truce

At the end of March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to the question of whether Ukraine would offer a truce to the aggressor country for Easter and what international guarantees would be needed to ensure that the Russian Federation “does not use the pause to strengthen its military positions.”

Later, the press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmitry Peskov stated that “there was no clear initiative regarding the Easter truce” from the Ukrainian president.

On Monday, April 6, Zelensky reported that Kyiv had sent a proposal for an energy truce to Moscow through the American side.
