Ukraine has opened its first agri-hub in Africa: Svyrydenko names the country.

The Prime Minister reported that products made from Ukrainian flour are already available

Ukraine has opened its first agri-hub in Africa – in the Republic of Ghana. The food processing and distribution center has started operating as part of the Food from Ukraine initiative.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.

According to Svyrydenko, despite the war, Ukraine continues to play an important role in ensuring global food security and is moving to a new model of cooperation – not only exporting grain but also creating production and logistics centers in partner countries.

The Prime Minister explained that the agri-hub was established by the Ukrainian agribusiness in cooperation with the government of Ghana as a result of agreements reached during the Food from Ukraine conference in November 2025.

“This is a new format of our presence in the world, where humanitarian support is combined with the development of partnerships and the local economy,” the Prime Minister stated.

She added that Ukrainian products will be combined with local ones to create food packages and ensure their distribution. The next step is to develop processing, packaging, and portioning directly in Ghana.

The first packages included locally produced rice and pasta made in Ghana from Ukrainian flour. During the opening, 4,000 food packages were distributed to the most vulnerable categories of the population, particularly to Ghanaian widows.

The Ukrainian government views Ghana as a key partner in West Africa for developing humanitarian programs and expanding trade presence in the region.

“We are ready to share our expertise, technologies, and experience in increasing yields to strengthen global food security together,” Svyrydenko concluded.

Ukraine is one of the key suppliers of grain to global markets and ensures food security for many countries.

Previously, the country ranked second among global grain exporters, trailing only the United States.

It was also recently reported that China has opened its market for the import of Ukrainian wheat flour. Negotiations on this matter lasted for at least three years.
