When can one go to bless Easter cakes in different regions?
On Easter, the curfew will not be lifted in most regions of Ukraine. At the same time, in some areas, it has been shortened or additional restrictions have been introduced due to the security situation.
RBK-Ukraine has gathered current information by region.

Main points:
- Kiev and most regions: Standard restrictions – from 00:00 to 05:00.
- Where it has been shortened: In Khmelnytskyi (until 03:00), Poltava, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and Kirovohrad regions (until 04:00).
- Exception: Transcarpathia remains the only region without a curfew.
- Strict regimes: In Donetsk region ( Druzhkivka), restrictions are in effect from 15:00, and in Sumy region – from 23:00.
- Churches: Most churches will bless Easter cakes on Saturday evening and Sunday morning to avoid nighttime crowds.
Kiev and Kyiv region
In the capital, the curfew will remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00. Some churches will hold nighttime services, however, believers are advised to either return home before midnight or stay in the church until the restrictions are lifted.
The police promise to be understanding of individual situations if people need to go out at night.
Vinnytsia region
The restrictions also remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00. Being outdoors is only allowed with a special pass.
The blessing of Easter cakes will be organized on Saturday during the day and on Sunday morning to avoid nighttime gatherings.
Dnipropetrovsk region
The curfew will not be changed. At the same time, security measures will be strengthened in the region, increasing the number of patrols and control near churches and cemeteries.
Residents are urged not to ignore air raid alerts.
Donetsk region
In part of the region, the strictest restrictions are in place. In particular, in Druzhkivka, the curfew lasts from 15:00 to 11:00.
Mass events and visits to cemeteries are prohibited due to the security situation.
Zhytomyr region
The restrictions remain standard – from 00:00 to 05:00. Night services are not planned.
Transcarpathian region
The only region in Ukraine where no curfew has been imposed. Movement at night is not restricted, but other martial law rules apply.
Zaporizhzhia region
The curfew is in effect, so festive services will begin only in the morning – approximately from 06:00.
The blessing of baskets will continue throughout the day to avoid crowding.
Ivano-Frankivsk region
The restrictions remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00. Believers are urged to avoid mass gatherings and respond to air raid alerts.
Kirovohrad region
The curfew has been shortened – it will be in effect from 00:00 to 04:00. This was done for the convenience of believers during the holidays.
Lviv region
The restrictions remain standard – from 00:00 to 05:00. During the holidays, checks and the number of patrols will be increased.
Mykolaiv region
The curfew remains unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00. The police will operate in an enhanced mode, and selective checks may occur.
Odesa region
The restrictions will be in effect from 00:00 to 05:00. Law enforcement will increase patrols, particularly near churches, train stations, and in public places.
Poltava region
The curfew will last from 00:00 to 04:00. In the city, patrols will be intensified, and services may be interrupted during alerts.
Rivne region
The restrictions remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 05:00. The police will operate in an enhanced mode.
Sumy region
The region has one of the longest curfews – from 23:00 to 05:00. During this time, being outdoors without special passes is prohibited.
Ternopil region
The curfew is in effect from 00:00 to 05:00. Believers are urged to avoid mass gatherings and adhere to safety rules.
Kharkiv region
The restrictions remain unchanged – until 05:00. Churches will be closed at night, and services have been moved to the morning.
Some cemeteries have been closed due to mine danger.
Kherson region
Due to constant shelling, additional restrictions are in place. It is recommended not to hold services during the curfew and to limit visits to churches in coastal areas.
Visits to cemeteries are only allowed for burials.
Khmelnytskyi region
The curfew has been shortened – it will last from 00:00 to 03:00.
Cherkasy region
The restrictions remain unchanged – from 00:00 to 04:00. The blessing of Easter cakes will take place during the day.
Chernivtsi region
The curfew is in effect from 00:00 to 04:00. The blessing of baskets will begin even before it ends – from 03:30.
Chernihiv region
The restrictions are – from 00:00 to 04:00. The region will increase patrols and security control.
