In mid-April, winter has returned to Ukraine
Today, April 9, the weather conditions in Ukraine will remain unfavorable – cold, precipitation, and strong winds will persist in most regions. In some areas, wet snow and nighttime frosts are expected.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Weather in Ukraine
According to meteorologists, the synoptic situation in Ukraine will not improve today.
“The cold, uncomfortable weather will continue to be determined by a cyclone, the center of which will be located to the northeast of our territory, leading to cloudy weather with clearings, and in some places, light rain and wet snow,” the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center explained.
Atmospheric pressure will decrease, humidity will remain high, and the northern wind will enhance the feeling of cold.
At night and in the morning, fog is expected in some eastern regions. The air temperature at night will be 1-6 degrees Celsius, but frosts may occur on the ground. In the eastern regions, as well as in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, and Vinnytsia regions, frosts are also forecasted in the air – down to 0-3 degrees.
During the day, the temperature will rise only to 3-8 degrees Celsius, and in the south and east – up to 11 degrees Celsius.
Weather in Kyiv
In the capital, it will also be cloudy with clearings. Light rain is expected, and wet snow may occur at night.
The wind will be northern, at 5-10 m/s.
The temperature in the region at night will be 1-6 degrees Celsius (with frosts of 0-3 degrees on the ground), and during the day – 3-8 degrees Celsius.
In Kyiv, at night, temperatures are expected to be 1-3 degrees Celsius (with frosts of 0-2 degrees on the ground), and during the day – 5-7 degrees Celsius.

In mid-April, winter has effectively returned to certain regions of Ukraine. Snow has not only been falling but also settling on the ground in some areas. Users on social media are actively posting photos and videos of the snowy precipitation.
Meteorologists had warned in advance about such a cold snap. According to their forecasts, frosts are expected in the coming days both on the ground and in the air across Ukraine.
These dangerous weather phenomena will affect most regions and may harm fruit trees and early crops.
Meteorologist Ivan Semilit from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center also discussed whether the weather in Ukraine will change before the weekend – whether there might be warming on Easter or after the holiday.
