The seventh child is expected to return to the family at the end of April
First Lady of the United States Melania Trump facilitated the return of six Ukrainian children abducted by Russian occupiers from Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the White House.

“The return of children to their families in this region of the world remains one of the most pressing global issues of our time. I am inspired that both sides remain committed to further cooperation, prioritizing the safety and well-being of children above this terrible war,” Trump stated.
The statement noted that the seventh Ukrainian child abducted by Russia will return home a little later – at the end of April.
The White House also reported that the spouse of the U.S. president and her representative continue to collaborate with Ukraine and Russia to identify and reunite individuals displaced as a result of the full-scale war.
Return of children from Russia
Recall that Melania Trump wrote a “letter of peace” to Vladimir Putin in August 2025, calling for action regarding Ukrainian children taken by the Russian occupation administration. At that time, the letter was delivered to the dictator by Donald Trump before the summit in Alaska.
It is worth noting that on February 12, Melania Trump announced the successful completion of another stage in the return of Ukrainian children deported to Russia since the beginning of the full-scale war. This was the third successful mission for family reunification.
Additionally, in December 2025, the First Lady of the United States reported that as part of the “humanitarian efforts,” seven abducted Ukrainian children were able to return home from Ukraine and Russia.
It is also noteworthy that recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that two thousand underage Ukrainians had already been returned home from Russian-controlled areas.
