Tehran threatens not only the US but also American allies
Iran warned the United States against launching a ground operation, promising instead to “ignite” American troops and intensify attacks on US allies.
This was stated by the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, as reported by RBC-Ukraine citing CBS News.
Ghalibaf stated that Iranian forces “are waiting for the arrival of American troops to ignite them and punish their regional partners forever.”
“Our shelling continues. Our missiles are in place. Our determination and faith have increased,” he added.
Additionally, Ghalibaf, who is considered one of Iran’s main negotiators, warned of possible attacks on US allies if America proceeds with a ground operation.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament also called the US 15-point plan “their wishes.” He noted that the administration of US leader Donald Trump is trying to achieve through this plan what it failed to accomplish by force.
“While the Americans seek Iran’s capitulation, our response is clear: we are far from accepting humiliation,” Ghalibaf said.
The situation in the Middle East
As is known, a few days ago, Washington proposed a 15-point peace plan to Iran, the key point of which is the transfer of 440 kilograms of highly enriched uranium stored in Iran to international control.
Tehran criticized the US 15-point peace plan, calling it “excessive,” and put forward its own conditions for ending the war.
One of Iran’s key conditions is a complete cessation of attacks against it, followed by compensation for the losses the Islamic state incurred during hostilities.
It is known that the administration of US President Donald Trump is contemplating a ground operation in Iran, although there have been recent statements about abandoning this step.
However, the Pentagon has sent Marines and warships to the Middle East – officially, to deter Iran.
Currently, Pakistan is being considered as a venue for US-Iran negotiations, which are expected to take place “in the coming days,” as Trump reported.
