The occupying authorities of Donbas have effectively acknowledged that they will not be able to restore water supply, according to the Center for Strategic Communications.

The occupation authorities accuse Ukraine of the lack of water in Donbas

Previously, the occupation authorities of Donbas claimed that water problems would disappear after the capture of Sloviansk, where the “Seversky Donets – Donbas” water canal is located, but now the Russians have come up with another excuse.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Center for Strategic Communications.

Thus, while the Russian occupation administration previously systematically promoted the thesis that stable water supply would allegedly only be possible after the capture of Sloviansk, through which the “Seversky Donets – Donbas” canal runs. This was presented as the main, albeit unlikely, “plan” to resolve the water crisis.

Now the occupiers have come up with another version – allegedly Ukraine has mined the water canal.

“The occupation authorities are unable to meet the basic needs of the population, but they persistently try to convince people that Ukraine is to blame for everything,” the Center for Strategic Communications reported.

They also noted that such statements arise against the backdrop of the destruction of the “Seversky Donets – Donbas” canal infrastructure by the Russian army in the unoccupied territory of Donetsk region. Thus, Russian propaganda attempts to create an informational cover for its own actions.

“It is characteristic that such statements appear against the backdrop of the destruction of the infrastructure of the “Seversky Donets – Donbas” canal by the Russian army in the unoccupied territory of Donetsk region. Thus, Russian propaganda tries to create an informational cover for its own actions,” the center added.

For example, on March 23, it was reported that the Russians struck the dam in the Seversky Donets area near Raihorodok with two guided bombs.

We also reported that at the end of February, Russian occupiers destroyed a dam near the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region. Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets noted at that time that the Russian Federation was deliberately creating a threat of humanitarian catastrophe.
