Ukraine and Finland are in constant communication regarding the incident
Ukrainian drones that fell on Finnish territory were not directed towards this country. The likely cause of the incident is the influence of Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement from the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgiy Tikhiy, in comments to journalists.

What Tikhiy said
He emphasized that Ukraine and Finland are in constant communication regarding this incident, and the Ukrainian side has already provided all necessary information to clarify the circumstances.
“We can affirmatively say that no Ukrainian drones were directed towards Finland in any way. The most likely cause is deviation by Russian EW systems,” Tikhiy stated.
According to him, Ukraine also apologized to the Finnish side for this incident.
“Overall, we share the belief with our Finnish friends that the cause of both this incident and the security challenges in our region is indeed Russian aggression against Ukraine,” he added.
Zelensky’s reaction
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that he discussed the situation with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
“Of course, we recalled the drone incident that recently occurred on Finnish territory. Alex and I see this situation the same way. We are providing all necessary information. Thank you!” Zelensky said.
What preceded
Recall that on the morning of March 29, several slow-moving objects flying low were spotted in the maritime zone and southeastern Finland. Two of them turned out to be Ukrainian drones, which fell on the country’s territory.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo confirmed that the drones that entered the territory of the state likely have Ukrainian origins.
According to the Air Force, one of them was identified as a strike long-range drone An-196 “Lyutyy,” while the type of the other could not be determined.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
