Excitement at the border with Poland: where the longest queues are now and how to bypass them

Ukrainians were advised on how to bypass queues at the border with Poland

Before Easter, queues at the border between Ukraine and Poland have significantly increased, with the least busy crossing points identified.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel of the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

“In recent days, there has been an increase in vehicles at the Ukrainian-Polish border. With Easter approaching, the number of citizens returning to Ukraine has risen,” noted the State Customs Service of Ukraine.

Thus, the most congested crossing points remain “Krakowiec – Korczowa” and “Shehyni – Medyka.”

“To save waiting time, we recommend drivers and citizens choose alternative crossing points: “Ugryniv – Dolgobichuv,” “Rava-Ruska – Khrebenne,” “Hrushev – Budomezh,” “Nyzhankovychi – Malchovice,” “Smilnytsia – Kroscenko,”” the customs service added.

Queues at the border between Ukraine and Poland

It was previously reported that the increase in passenger traffic between Ukraine and Poland began last Saturday when spring break started for schoolchildren. At that time, the majority were leaving Ukraine, while on weekdays, the intensity of traffic slightly decreased.

According to the State Border Guard Service, on Friday, March 27, nearly 90,000 people crossed the border, and the next day, the number rose to 107,000. While on Friday, the flows for entry and exit were roughly equal, on Saturday, there was a noticeable advantage for those returning to Ukraine: there were 12,000 more citizens in that category.

At certain crossings on the border with Poland, the queue consists of 150-200 vehicles. Border guards advise checking the congestion of crossing points before traveling and, if possible, choosing less busy routes.
