“Ukraine is open to working together to protect against drone and missile strikes. From our own experience, we know that without a unified system, it is simply impossible to establish full protection for people and critical infrastructure,” Zelensky wrote after the meeting with the king.
He added that Ukraine has a system to counter enemy strikes, particularly Iranian drones.
“And it is very important that those to whom we offer our expertise can also help us strengthen,” the president noted, thanking Abdullah II for his openness to dialogue.
What preceded this
As is known, Jordan has become embroiled in the conflict in the Middle East as Tehran began striking American military bases in the Gulf countries.
For example, on March 1, Iran shelled military bases in Jordan and Iraq.
Ukraine continues to forge partnership agreements with Gulf countries and states that oppose the Iranian regime. For instance, the day before, Volodymyr Zelensky announced new security cooperation following a meeting with the UAE leader.
It should be noted that Tehran has labeled Ukraine a legitimate target after Kyiv began assisting Gulf countries in countering Iranian “Shaheds.”
The US and Israel’s operation against the Iranian regime began on February 28. In the first day, the supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, was eliminated. However, the operation has dragged on despite ambitious statements from American leader Donald Trump. He is currently contemplating whether to initiate a ground operation in Iran.
