“There are requests from the American side for expert support for their military in two areas of the region. We are addressing requests from European partners whose forces are based in this region,” his statement said.
Zelensky noted that he has instructed the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, to involve Ukrainian military and the Foreign Ministry to assess international initiatives regarding the Strait of Hormuz and the readiness of countries around the world to participate in stabilization missions.
“Our teams are already working with five countries to counter ‘Shaheds’ – expert assessments have been provided, and we are helping to build a defense system. There are additional requests from other countries,” the president emphasized.
Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is interested in the swift stabilization of the situation in the Middle East. He noted that “the principled position” of Kyiv is the inadmissibility of any success for the Iranian regime, which has long been an ally of Russia.
“I expect concrete results from the assessment in the near future. It is important that the global significance of Ukraine in ensuring security and the quality of Ukrainian security expertise for protecting lives are recognized by all partners,” the president’s statement said.
UAF instructors in the Middle East
Recall that Ukraine has the largest experience in the world in countering strike drones. Volodymyr Zelensky noted that without this experience, it will be very difficult for the U.S. and partners in the Middle East to build a strong defense.
Additionally, the Ukrainian president recently revealed that he sent three teams of specialists on “Shaheds” to the Middle East – to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
