The remaining supplies are planned to be used exclusively for the needs of the U.S.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Gegset stated that the current issues with the country’s military supplies are a result of decisions made by the previous administration, particularly regarding the transfer of weapons to Ukraine.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a briefing at the Pentagon.

According to him, a significant portion of ammunition was directed not towards the needs of the American armed forces.
“We are still dealing with the situation created by Joe Biden, which has led to the depletion of supplies and their transfer not to our own armed forces, but to Ukraine,” he emphasized.
Gegset noted that the U.S. is currently reassessing its approach to the use of military resources.
“Ultimately, we believe that these munitions are better spent in our own interests,” added the head of the Pentagon.
He also stressed that the new funding bill should ensure proper replenishment of supplies and strengthen the defense capabilities of the U.S.
It is worth noting that the U.S. is simultaneously supporting Ukraine in its war against Russia while conducting a military campaign against Iran in the Middle East, significantly increasing the burden on the country’s defense resources. In Washington, there is an increasing discussion about the need to replenish weapon supplies and reassess their usage priorities.
In particular, the Pentagon has already approached the White House with a request to coordinate a request to Congress for more than $200 billion to fund the war against Iran, indicating the scale of the needs and rising expenditures.
