Main points:
- What happened: SES divers found and retrieved remnants of a Russian missile from the river in Kyiv.
- Danger: Even safe (non-explosive) debris threatens injuries to people, as they are sharp and hidden underwater.
- SES call to action: It is strictly forbidden to touch suspicious objects; all findings must be reported to rescue services.
Operations in the water area
According to rescuers, the missile debris ended up in the water during one of the recent enemy attacks on Kyiv. Specialists note that these specific retrieved fragments were safe and did not pose a direct threat of explosion.
“Metal pieces hidden beneath the water’s surface are a trap for anyone who, despite warnings, tests their luck by diving into the water,” the SES warns.

- immediately report the find by calling 101 or 112.
Massive attack on Ukraine on the night of March 19
Recall that on the night of March 19, Russia carried out a large-scale attack, launching 133 drones (about 70 of them were of the “Shahed” type) over Ukrainian territory. Despite the work of air defense, debris falls were recorded in several regions.
In particular, in Odesa, residential buildings and infrastructure were damaged, and in Lviv, debris from a downed drone fell onto the territory of the SBU building. In Zaporizhzhia, due to the attack on infrastructure, more than 38,000 homes were left without electricity.
