Heating season in the city decided to be “returned”
The April cold snap forced the authorities of Ternopil to reconsider their plans. However, the resumption of the heating period entails certain changes in water supply.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a publication from the press service of the municipal enterprise of thermal networks “Ternopilgorteplokomunenergo” on Facebook.

When will the heating period resume
According to information from the municipal enterprise “Ternopilgorteplokomunenergo,” the heating period in Ternopil will resume starting Wednesday, April 8.
This decision was made considering the drop in outdoor temperatures.
“From April 8, 2026, at 00:00 hours, the heating period will be restored in the Ternopil city territorial community,” the residents and guests of the city were informed.
It is specified that the resumption of heat carrier supply from the boilers from the specified date was entrusted to:
- KP “Ternopilgorteplokomunenergo”;
- its subsidiary “Ternopil Energy Service Company”.
What will happen with hot water supply
Citizens were also informed that on April 7, hot water from the boilers will not be supplied:
- due to the resumption of the heating period;
- due to the execution of technological switching.
However, already tomorrow, on April 8, hot water supply (HWS) will be carried out according to the usual schedule.
It is clarified that “billing will be carried out based on the actually received service.”
“KP ‘Ternopilgorteplokomunenergo’ apologizes for the temporary inconveniences,” the enterprise’s press service concluded.

Cold snap in Ukraine
Earlier, meteorologist Ivan Semilit from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center told RBC-Ukraine in a brief interview that the current cold weather in most regions of the country is caused by a northern process in the atmosphere – a cyclone from Scandinavia.
It is moving eastward, and in its rear part, there is an invasion of arctic air from the northern directions – it is entering our territory.
Given this situation, frosts (on the surface of the soil and even in the air) are likely at night in many regions, and rain may be accompanied by wet snow.
In some places, strong gusts of wind are also forecasted.
According to the forecast from specialists at UkrHMC for April 8, the uncomfortable weather in Ukraine will continue to be influenced by the rear part of the cyclone (with the center to the east of our territory).
At the same time, a cold air mass will still be present at heights, which will be supplemented by “new portions of cold from the northern directions.”
Meanwhile, Semilit also discussed whether the weather in Ukraine will change before the weekend – whether there could be warming on Easter or after the holiday.
Recall that earlier the Cabinet of Ministers estimated the preparation for the new heating season at 278 billion hryvnias.
In the meantime, we discussed why preparations for the next winter in Ukraine might fail.
